Aufgabenfelder:

Regionale Integration und Sicherheitsarchitektur in Asien unter besonderer Berücksichtigung unterschiedlicher regionaler Schwerpunkte wie die Rolle Chinas, die koreanische Halbinsel und Südostasien.

Ihr Profil:

Studium der Politikwissenschaft bzw. vergleichbarer Abschluss, einschlägige fachliche Erfahrung, möglichst in der Region gewonnene Expertise und entsprechende Publikationen, fließende Englischkenntnisse und (wünschenswert) Kenntnisse einer Regionalsprache, Erfahrungen in der Politikberatung und sehr gute schriftliche und mündliche Ausdrucksfähigkeit.

Summer Study in Vietnam

De Anza College in Cupertino, CA had its first study-trip to Vietnam back in 1998, and this year is the third consecutive summer program we’ll conduct there. For three weeks in July, participants will study and travel from Sapa to Chau Doc. Students will earn up to 8 (quarter) credits for two courses. Courses offered: Poli Sci 03 (International Relations) & Sociology 05 (Globalization of Sociology)

Summer Travel Study: Thailand Sustainable Ecosystems

Program dates: June 23- July 27, 2009

Participate this summer in a community-based, integrated, social and natural science field research program. You’ll engage in sustainability research, intercultural activities, and fieldwork. The academic portion of the program focuses on social and ecological theories, research methods, and analysis along with international policy and practice.

And you’ll use that knowledge as you join Thai villagers and organizations in community service. You’ll learn both with and from the Thai community groups, in particular, those developing sustainable communities, restoring tsunami-damaged ecosystems, regenerating coastal biodiversity, and building resilience to climate change. This is a project-based, learning process-oriented
community service course.

Fellowships for the Study of Buddhism

The Center for Buddhist Studies at the University of Hamburg offers fellowships for up to a maximum of twenty-four months to support MA and doctoral students doing research in Buddhist studies and other fields related to Buddhism.

Candidates of all faculties from German/EU or overseas universities are welcome to apply. The deadline is 15 May 2009.

The Asia Research Institute (ARI) of the National University of Singapore (NUS) invites applications from postgraduate students who are engaged in research on Southeast Asia to attend the 4th Asian Graduate Forum on Southeast Asian Studies on 13- 17 July 2009. This 3-day forum will be part of ARI’s 5-day Graduate Development Institute and Forum, which in addition to the forum will include two full days of sessions aimed to develop graduate student understandings of academia and relevant skills, through roundtable discussions with faculty, focused practical seminars and breakout group discussions.
