For the upcoming study term SEAS offers differents possibilities to get engaged with the SEAS team as a intern.
For the first time there are two new intern posts available:
- a conference internship (Info)
- a editorial internship with ASEAS, the Austrian Journal of South-East Asian Studies (Info)
Both internships are scheduled to last two study terms (winter + summer semester 2009 / 2010)
Besides that we still do offer one regular lasting only one study term (winter semester 2009/2010).

The Regional Center for Social Science and Sustainable Development
(RCSD), Faculty of the Social Sciences, Chiang Mai University, is
pleased to inform you about the RCSD International Conference,
‘Revisiting Agrarian Transformations in Southeast Asia: Empirical,
Theoretical and Applied Perspectives’ to be held in Chiang Mai on
13-15 May 2010. The conference will be co-hosted by the project
Challenge of the Agrarian Transition in Southeast Asia (ChATSEA), a
Major Collaborative Research Initiative of the Social Sciences and
Humanities Research Council in Canada.

3-MONTH VISITING (SENIOR) RESEARCH FELLOWSHIPS
Applications are invited for 3-month Visiting (Senior) Research
Fellowships at the Asia Research Institute (ARI), National University of
Singapore to commence in April 2010, July 2010=2
0and October 2010. The positions are intended for outstanding
researchers whose work focus on Asia, with a balance anticipated between
senior and junior scholars. Interested applicants should have at least
a PhD with a few years of postdoctoral research experience. Applicants
are invited to indicate which of the ARI clusters they would like to be
affiliated with. Interdisciplinary interests are encouraged. The
position is essentially a writing fellowship, and at least one published
outcome is expected. Applicants who do not normally publish in English
will be encouraged and assisted to do so.

Job Opportunity – Sessional Lecturer (Department of Pacific and Asian
Studies, Univ. of Victoria)
The Department of Pacific and Asian Studies invites applications for an
eight-month sessional appointment in Southeast Asian Studies. The
appointment will be at the Sessional Lecturer level and will commence on
September 1, 2009. The successful candidate must have native or near
native proficiency, should ideally hold at least an MA in a field
related tot he study of Indonesia, and preferably have prior experience
in teaching Indonesian/Malay, and Southeast Asian culture and
literature. The successful candidate will be expected to teach
Indonesian-Malay, and Southeast Asian culture and literature. Teaching
duties will include the equivalence of 6 semester-length courses for a
total of 9.0 units at the undergraduate level distributed over Fall and
Spring Terms.
