International Summer School in Thailand/Vietnam oder Taiwan
Die Johannes Kepler Universität veranstaltet in Zusammenarbeit mit der Österreichischen Gesellschaft für Südostasienforschung eine International Summer School in Thailand und Vietnam, sowie in Taiwan.
In Taiwan (14.8.10.9.) werden die Inhalte “Economic Law”, “Commercial Law”, “Political System” und “Social Changes” in Ostasien behandelt.
Die Sommer School in Thailand (21.8.-17.9.) beschäftigt sich mit der Geschichte Südostasiens, mit Strukturen und Prozessen in südostasiatischer Politik, der ASEAN, der thailändischen ökonomischen Entwicklung und Business-Styles, sowie mit Thai-Kultur.

The 7th Pan-European International Relations Conference will be held in Stockholm from 9-11 September 2010.
One Section of the Conference will be
“Regional Powers in Latin America, Africa, and Asia: Winners or Losers of the Financial Crisis?”
and analyses so-called (new) regional powers’ responses to the financial crisis and their impact on regional and global institution-building.
Both proposals of individual papers and panels complete with chair and discussant will be welcome.

Bangkok, Singapore, Jakarta – the Ludwigsburg Film Conference 2010 focuses on Southeast Asian megacities and their filmic representation. Researchers from different countries present their views on megacities in contemporary filmmaking. The papers address cinematic constructions and representations of urban life as well as questions of national identity and cultural diversity.
The theoretical debate is accompanied by movie screenings, workshops, a panel discussion on trends in Southeast Asian filmmaking and a film party with buffet, films and music.
