1 - Call for Papers - 5th SEAS Conference 2010
The Call for Papers for the 5th Viennese Conference on South-East Asian Studies held on 28th and 29th of May 2010 is now online. Next year’s focus will be „Human Security in South-East Asia“.
The Conference aims at presenting three Panels: Panels 1 examines the discourse on different concepts of Human Security in South-East Asia, while Panel 2 looks at their implementation through case studies. The third and open Panel will be available to present recent research on South-East Asia.
We are happy to welcome Donald Emmerson, Director of the Southeast Asia Forum / Stanford University as a key speaker for this conference.
Paper Proposals to this conference can be submitted till March 8, 2010.

2 - Timor-Leste Platform
Starting early next year, SEAS aims to establish a platform or focus group on Timor-Leste based in Vienna. The results of this project should be of different character, from academic to cultural events. For an early deliberation on possible foci of this project, we want to invite all people interested.

3 - SEAS X-Mas Dinner
For our annual SEAS X-Mas Dinner as well as to celebrate SEAS 5th anniversary we invite all members as well as people interested in our work to join us at Lee&Kim Restaurant in Vienna at Spitalgasse 1, 1090 Wien. We will meet on December 17 around 19:00. Since space is limited please let us know about your participation by email, so we can have enough seats reserved.

6th EuroSEAS Conference 2010 in Gothenburg
The 6th EuroSEAS Conference will be held from 26th to 28th of August 2010 in Gothenburg, Sweden. There are several Panels with a variety of subjects. To have an overview of the different Panels with their respective deadlines and the Conference in general, please visit the official website.
ASEAS 2(2) to be published soon
The final editorial work for our next issue ASEAS 2(2) just started and we are looking forward publication at the end of December. This upcoming issue will feature articles on Border Disputes, the Regional Cooperation at the Mekong River Basin and others such as a South-East Asia Visually article.
